TUCSON, Ariz. – The Purdue track & field team's combined event athletes will compete at the Jim Click Shootout from April 5-6 in Tucson, Arizona.

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Purdue track & field team's combined event athletes will compete at the Jim Click Shootout from April 5-6 in Tucson, Arizona.
 
The Boilermakers will have two athletes in the decathlon and two in the heptathlon. Action at Arizona's Drachman Stadium begins with the heptathlon at 1:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. MT on Friday, April 5, and the decathlon commences 30 minutes later. The first day of the combined events concludes at approximately 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. MT. On Saturday, April 6, the final five events of the decathlon start at 12:30 p.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. MT, with the last three events of the heptathlon starting 30 minutes afterwards. Purdue's day is expected to wrap up at about 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. MT.

Eight schools, plus several unattached athletes, are represented in the decathlon and heptathlon this weekend. The field includes host-Arizona and Big Ten foes Iowa and Nebraska. Twenty-one athletes were accepted into the heptathlon and 20 in the decathlon.
 
PURDUE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Boilermakers are represented three times in the top-25 in the second weekly national TFRI individual rankings, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Sophomore Seth Allen is No. 16 in the discus, thanks to a mark that ranks No. 3 in school history, the men's 4x400 relay is 20th with the seventh-best time in Boilermaker history, and the men's 4x100 relay checks in at No. 23. In the #EventSquad rankings, the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase is No. 5 and the men's pole vault is 10th.
 
LAST TIME OUT: WEEKENDS ARE BIGGER IN TEXAS
In a busy weekend at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational in Texas, the Boilermakers combined to win one event and earn 10 top-five finishes. Thirteen personal bests were achieved by the Old Gold and Black at the three-day meets.
 
Purdue earned four top-three finishes at the prestigious Texas Relays, led by senior Caroline Jordan, who won the 10,000m. Fellow senior Caleb Williams was the runner-up in the 3,000m steeplechase and the men's 4x400 relay also placed second, both with times that rank No. 7 in school history. Junior Nathan Walker also was third in the 10,000m at the Texas Relays.

NEXT UP: OFF TO FLORIDA AND ILLINOIS
All event groups are back in action next weekend, at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville, Florida, from April 12-13, and the Gary Wieneke Memorial in Champaign, Illinois, on April 13.
