WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 58 Purdue women's tennis team fell to No. 37 Northwestern 4-1 in road match.
Northwestern claimed the doubles point, giving the Wildcats the 1-0 lead entering singles play. When the point was clinched for Northwestern, Csilla Fodor/Kennedy Gibbs were still battling Sydney Pratt/Neena Feldman at No. 2. The match went unfinished with the Wildcats leading 4-3.
The only singles win for the Boilermakers came from Kennedy Gibbs at No. 3. Gibbs defeated Sydney Pratt in three sets. After falling 1-6 in the first set, the sophomore dominated the next sets 6-0, 6-1. Senior Csilla Fodor was in the middle of a close match at No. 2 against No. 116 Justine Leong as Northwestern claimed the victory. Fodor beat Leong in the first set, going 7-5. The two were neck-in-neck at 6-6 when the match went unfinished. Also ending unfinished was Tara Katarina Milic at No. 5. Milic was in the third set when the match was called.
