WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team fell at home to the Ole Miss Rebels 4-1.
At No. 1, No. 117 Carmen Gallardo Guevara/Tara Katarina Milic dominated in doubles, besting the Rebels' Ava Hrastar/Briana Crowley. The pair claimed the first four games before ultimately winning the match in a tiebreak 7-6(4). To clinch the doubles point for the Boilermakers, Kennedy Gibbs/Ashlie Wilson beat Anaelle Leclercq-Ficher/Ludmila Kareisova in another tiebreak 7-6(4).
The Boilermakers fought hard in singles, eventually falling to the Rebels. Gibbs was in the middle of her third set against Ava Hrastar when Ole Miss clinched the win. Gallardo Guevara was also robbed of her chance to claim victory over Ludmila Kareisova at No. 1. The match was called when she was up 3-0 in the third set.
