Joey Blaze has three overtime wins on the year, the most on the team. Last weekend, he knocked off No. 18 Trevor Chumbley 4-1 in sudden victory.
Brody Baumann leads the team with 87 points in the first period this season, about 4.1 per match.

NCAA COACHES' RANKINGS SECOND EDITION
Four Purdue wrestlers appeared in the second edition of the NCAA coaches' rankings with five earning nods in the first release of the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).

Matt Ramos (No. 1 at 125), Greyson Clark (No. 32 at 141), Joey Blaze (No. 17 at 157), and Stoney Buell (No. 27 at 165) made the top-33 list from the coaches. The RPI, which is a calculation based on a wrestler, their opponent, and their opponent's opponent's winning percentages, placed Ramos at No. 2, Clark at No. 17, Blaze at No. 24, and Buell at No. 20 while also including Brody Baumann at No. 27.

Clark and Blaze are only the third and fourth true freshmen Boilermakers to be included in the rankings since the NCAA began releasing them in 2012. Blaze's No. 17 spot in the coaches poll and Clark's No. 17 spot in the RPI are the highest ever for a first-year Boiler.

SENIOR NIGHT
The Boilermakers will honor their senior class before the dual on Friday, recognizing Mitch Hutmacher, Trey Kruse, Michael Leveille, Christian Navida, Cooper Noehre, and Macartney Parkinson for their dedication to the program.

The group combined for 127 wins, 29 major decision and 23 pins on the mat with nine Academic All-Big Ten honors in the classroom. They all played a big role in the Boilermakers placing as a top-25 NWCA Scholar All-American team in 2022.

TRUE FRESHMEN PHENOMS
True freshmen Joey Blaze and Greyson Clark earned spots in the lineup from day one of their college careers and have already shown the talent that made them both top-30 recruits.

Blaze (15-7) made the biggest splash early by knocking off No. 5 Ed Scott of N.C. State in sudden victory. He was the first unranked Boiler to beat a top-5 opponent since Griffin Parriott in 2018. He is one of just five under Ersland to defeat top-5 opposition while unranked themselves.

Clark (13-5) has shown technique beyond his years. He leads the team with 38 back points on 11 near-fall attempts with five bonus point victories to his name.

The duo are also 2-of-9 Big Ten true freshmen currently ranked by InterMat. Blaze is the only B1G true freshman ranked at 157.
