Boilers Set for Notre Dame Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue's fall break begins in South Bend with the Notre Dame Invitational, Oct. 6-8.

The Boilermakers are one of nine teams, and four Big Ten teams, competing in the invitational. Purdue is joined by DePaul, Drake, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Western Michigan.

The format will consist of two teams competing each day with no one playing each other twice.

The Boilers will face familiar squads having competed against six of the nine opponents in the 2023 spring season. The Boilermakers were winless against these foes, scoring a total of five points in dual matches.

Purdue picked up seven total wins in their opening weekend in Tuscaloosa. Newcomer Stefan Simeunovic impressed in his collegiate debut. The freshman picked up three wins in the first two days of action, all three victories coming against the Ole Miss Rebels.

Returning players Daniel Labrador and Mujtaba Ali-Khan found their footing late in the weekend as they combined for three total victories across singles and doubles action. Labrador is one of two Boilermakers to face a ranked opponent this fall as he came up short against No. 77 John Hallquist Lithen.

One of Purdue's transfer players, Aleksa Krivokapic, was thrown into the fire as he faced a total of three ranked opponents across the opener. His lone win came on opening day against Auburn's Will Nolan.

Watch links and live stats will not be available throughout the weekend, but results will be posted after the end of each day under the "News" tab on the Purdue Men's Tennis website.
