CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The regular season concludes for the Purdue cross country team with a trip to the XC-23 Pre-Nationals in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday, October 14.
Hosted by Virginia at Panorama Farms – the site of the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships – both the Boilermaker men and women have been selected to race in the blue championship events on Saturday. The men run in the 8k at 9:40 p.m. ET, followed by the women's 6k at 10:30 a.m.

Purdue is one of 25 women's teams and one of 24 men's squads to run in the blue championship races on Saturday. The highly touted national field includes four top-25 women's teams, No. 6 BYU, No. 7 Virginia, No. 17 Oregon and No. 19 Arkansas, and three ranked men's squads, No. 10 Virginia, No. 17 Tennessee and No. 21 Arkansas. Four more squads come to Virginia receiving votes, three in the women's event and one in the men's.
The Boilermakers will be represented by 18 runners, nine men and nine women, at Panorama Farms on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT: LIVE IN LOU
Purdue raced to a pair of top-five team finishes at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Kentucky, on September 30. The Boilermaker men were third as a team, and first among Division-I programs, and the women finished fifth overall on an unseasonably warm morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. Junior Nathan Walker led the Purdue men with a seventh-place individual finish in the 8k Gold race, while senior Payne Turney paced the women in the 5k Gold event.
The men, who won their first two meets of the season, where third with 160 points. They finished behind a pair of D-2 powerhouses, Grand Valley State (104 points) and Adams State (105). The women earned 275 points as Grand Valley State (58 points) and Adams State (95) again took first and second. The gold events featured 39 men's teams and 36 women's programs.
