LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Purdue cross country team concludes the month of September at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, September 30.
Hosted at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, the Boilermakers will run in the College Men 8k Gold event at 9:30 a.m. ET and the College Women 5k Gold race at 10:15 a.m.

Thirty-nine men's teams and 35 women's squads are competing in the gold races on Saturday. Along with Purdue and host-Louisville, the field includes Butler, Indiana State, Clemson and UCF. The Boilermakers will be represented by 23 runners, 12 women and 11 men.
WALKER EARNS BIG TEN HONOR
After a victory at the John McNichols Invitational, junior Nathan Walker was named the Big Ten Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week September 20. As he earned the first Big Ten award of his career, Walker is the first Boilermaker to be recognized with men's cross country athlete of the week accolades since Jaret Carpenter on October 17, 2018.
Against a highly-competitive field on one of the most challenging courses in the country, Walker won the 8k race on September 16 with a time of 24:14.0. He overtook the then-leading Indiana runner with 150 meters left in the race to win by 3.9 seconds.

LAST TIME OUT: ANOTHER VICTORY
Walker's individual win led the Purdue men to their second team victory in as many races to begin the season at the John McNichols Invitational on Saturday, September 16, in Terre Haute, Indiana. In the women's 5k, the Boilermakers placed fourth as a team and were led by senior Payne Turney, who was seventh overall at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
