WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 25 Purdue Boilermakers are slated to take on No. 23 Kansas and No. 19 Marquette in the Kansas Invitational for the second week of non-conference action.

A FRESH START
• Eight Boilermakers started a set for the first time in their career over the weekend.
Chloe Chicoine, Kenna Wollard, Taylor Anderson, Lourdes Myers, Grace Heaney, Lizzie Carr and Emily Rastovski all
either started for the first time in their collegiate career or saw action for the first time.
• Meanwhile, Lorrin Poulter wore the Old Gold & Black for the first time, transferring to Purdue from Denver for her
fifth season.

YOUNG & TALENTED
• Purdue is one of the youngest teams in the nation, and one of only two programs among the top-25 with 11 underclassmen
on the roster (joined by #16 Baylor's 13 underclassmen).
• The Boilermakers will be the younger team in all but one non-conference matchup: vs. USC (9/15).
• Among the Big Ten, Purdue (11 underclassmen, 64% of the roster), Rutgers (11 underclassmen, 73%) and Illinois (10
underclassmen, 66%) have the youngest roster.

CHLOE CHICOINE: THE REAL DEAL
• Chicoine not only leads the nation among all freshmen but leads the entire Big Ten with 146 total attacks. She is one
of only 10 players in the country, regardless of class, to produce as many attacks in the first weekend of competition.
• Chicoine was one of seven freshmen in the nation average 4.00 kills per set and one of only four from Power five
programs (joined by: Florida's Kennedy Martin, LSU's Jurnee Robinson and Clemson's Kennedy Wagner).
• The Lafayette, Indiana native was second overall in the Big Ten in total points (53) and kills (48) over the weekend,
leading all freshmen, sophomores and juniors.
• Meanwhile, her 19 kills vs. Duke were the most by a Big Ten player in a four-set match over opening weekend.
• Moreover, the performance edged Eva Hudson's 18 kills, to set the 21st-century record for most kills by a Purdue
freshman in the season-opener.

THE SPARK: GRACE HEANEY
• Freshman opposite/right side Grace Heaney entered the match during the fourth-set vs. Loyola, posting four
straight points for Purdue (three kills, one block assist) to regain the lead and give Purdue the spark needed to win
the set to push the match to five.
• Heaney closed the night with seven kills on 14 swings with two errors (.357) vs. Loyola. Defensively, she added two
block assists and one dig.
• Registered a weekend's-best four total blocks vs. #18 Creighton (8/26).
• Heaney's six blocks this season are second-most on the team behind middle Raven Colvin (10).

POISED UNDER PRESSURE: TAYLOR ANDERSON
• Setter Taylor Anderson was subbed into the match vs. Loyola, going on to post her first career double-double with
33 assists, 10 digs and two aces.
• Outside seeing a handful of points vs. Duke, the match vs. Loyola was the first significant playing time for Anderson.

PURDUE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
• The program has been ranked for 93 consecutive weeks (since preseason 2017), the longest active streak by any
Purdue team.
• Purdue's highest final ranking in program history came in 2021 at #6.
• Last year, the squad was ranked as high as 5th in the nation - its second-highest ranking in program history. The
record was set in 2021, ranking 4th following the take-down of #3 Ohio State inside Holloway Gymnasium, 3-2
(9/24/21).
