2023-24 Schedule Opens in a new window
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Wrestling released its official schedule for the 2023-24 season on Friday morning with head coach Tony Ersland's program set for a trio of home duals to go along with four road trips.

The Boilermakers kick off their season on November 5 as they once again travel to the Clarion Open to start the year. It was a successful tournament for Ersland's young squad in 2022, as they took home six titles and twelve overall medals. Matt Ramos, Dustin Norris, and Jacob Macatangay were among the first-place finishers that will look to defend their crowns in 2023.

Purdue will travel to Pennsylvania again the following weekend with a trip to the Journeymen Collegiate Classic. The unique event features a day of dual action in WrangleMania on Saturday followed by a tournament on Sunday. The Boilermakers will make their dual debut against the Army West Point Golden Knights before taking on a projected top-10 opponent in NC State.

The tournament portion of the event will feature tough competition from the likes of Penn State, Arizona State, NC State, Penn, Army, Lehigh, Lock Haven and more. Purdue last competed in a Journeymen event in the fall of 2019 when the team went 2-1 at the Northeast Duals.

Ersland's squad makes their return to Holloway Gymnasium on Sunday, November 19 with the Boilermaker Duals against Northern Illinois and Indianapolis. The Huskies have been a part of the annual event three of the last four years and this will be the 34th meeting between the two programs. The Boilermakers have beaten the Greyhounds of Indianapolis each of the nine times the pair have faced, most recently in a 45-0 win in 2019.

After a week off for Thanksgiving, Purdue will head west to the vaunted Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. It will be the program's 17th appearance in the tournament, coming away with 48 placewinners in total. Last season, Ramos and Kendall Coleman took second along with a seventh-place finish from Parker Filius.

A trip to Buies Creek, N.C., on December 19 for a quad hosted by Campbell and featuring Stanford and North Dakota State follows the weekend in Las Vegas. The Camels won the inaugural meeting between the two programs last season, so the Boilermakers will look to even the score this time around. Purdue last faced both the Cardinal and Bison in 2019, taking 22-9 and 22-12 victories from those matches.

The final nonconference test of the season will come just into the new year on January 3, 2024 against Lindwood in Holloway. It will be the first time the two programs have faced each other.

The Big Ten schedule is typically released in September, and will unveil the dates, times, and locations for Purdue's eight conference opponents. All eight matchups are already known for the Boilermakers, comprised of the other six Big Ten West schools, intrastate rival Indiana and east coast foe Rutgers.
