Live Scoring at U.S. Amateur Opens in a new window
DENVER, Colo. Purdue fifth-year senior Nick Dentino has moved on to the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur after two solid rounds at Colorado Golf Club and Cherry Hills Golf Club.

Dentino is one of 64 match-play qualifiers out of a field that started at 312 competitors. With players still on the course, Dentino finished his 36 holes at T-39, moving on to Wednesday's round of 64 match.

Dentino's official placing and first-round opponent was not available at the time of release, but will start play Wednesday morning in Colorado.

Dentino shot a 36-hole total of 1-under par 142 after an opening-round, even-par 72 at the Colorado Golf Club, then followed it up with a 1-under par 70 at the difficult Cherry Hills Golf Club layout.

Dentino is making his second appearance in the U.S. Amateur, but his first in match play.

It marks the second straight season that a Purdue golfer has reached match play after Peyton Snoeberger advanced to the round of 32 a year ago in New Jersey.

Dentino played all 11 events this last season at Purdue, registering a 72.90 stroke average with two top-10 finishes and 13 rounds of even-par or better.

Live scoring will be provided on USGA.org, with streaming starting Wednesday when match-play begins. Television coverage also begins Wednesday on the Golf Channel, with NBC picking up the semifinals and finals on Saturday and Sunday.
