WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Eva Hudson and Maddie Schermerhorn will attend the second annual Big Ten Volleyball Media Days alongside head coach Dave Shondell on August 1 at the Big Ten Network studios in Chicago.

Tune in to the Big Ten Network from 2:50-3:10 p.m. ET to catch the Boilermakers in the BTN Studio, immediately followed by the B1G+ stream from 3:15-3:35 p.m. ET for Purdue's press conference.

Hudson, a sophomore, was recently named a unanimous preseason All-Big Ten Selection following a freshman year which culminated in an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention, Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Northeast Region Freshman of the Year, First Team All-Big Ten and Purdue Female Athlete of the Year. The most decorated freshman in program history led the conference in points and kills in her inaugural season.

In December, Schermerhorn announced her return for a fifth season, granted due to COVID-19. Coming off one of the most accomplished seasons by a defensive specialist in program history and a Second Team All-Big Ten accolade, Schermerhorn was only one of two players in all of Power Five to achieve a 4.62 digs per set average on the year. Leading the Big Ten for the majority of the season last fall, the Boilermaker anchored Purdue with 19 matches with at least 15 digs and three matches with 25 or more.

Shondell enters his 21st season at the helm of Boilermaker volleyball as the longest tenured head coach in the Big Ten. He has guided Purdue to 14 20-win seasons, four NCAA Regional Final (elite eight) appearances and a 435-217 (.667) overall record, including 111-42 over the last five seasons. The Boilermakers have reached its highest NCAA ranking in program history under his tutelage (No. 4 in 2021), has been ranked for 92 consecutive weeks and led Purdue to the NCAA tournament 17 times, including the last eight straight years.

Purdue will be joined by Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern and Ohio State as the programs appearing in day one of the two-day event. A proven success as a program builder, recruiter and game strategist, two-time Big Ten Coach of the Year and regional Coach of the Year owns a 435-217 (.667) record, including 111-42 record over the last five seasons.

Along with their media schedules, student-athletes and coaches from all 14 Big Ten Conference volleyball programs will gather in the evening for an exclusive dinner and reception, celebrating the success and future promise of Big Ten volleyball.

Single-match tickets will go on-sale August 1 at 9 a.m. ET for John Purdue Club members and August 2 at 9 a.m. ET for the general public.
