The University of New Mexico is hosting the two-day national championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center from March 10-11, as the top 16 competitors nationally in each event earned a berth. In addition to live coverage on ESPN+, the meet will re-air on ESPNU on Sunday, March 12, at 6 p.m. ET, and on Monday, March 13, at 7 p.m. ET.

Vanos qualified for his first career NCAA Championships, indoors or outdoors, after he won a silver medal in the weight throw at the Big Ten Championships on February 24. His throw of 22.12 meters is second-best in school history and earned him his first career Big Ten medal and third podium finish in any event.

A native of Forest, Ontario, Canada, Vanos began the season with a then-personal-best throw of 21.95m on December 10, which moved him up to fourth on Purdue's top-10 list and was the best mark by a Boilermaker since 2015. One month later, on January 27, he rose to No. 2 all-time with a throw of 22.10m. In five meets this season in the weight throw, Vanos has three wins and has been second twice.

The first Boilermaker thrower to qualify for the indoor championships since 2019, Vanos' NCAA appearance comes after Purdue had two throwers compete at last season's outdoor championships.
