MILWAUKEE – The Purdue soccer team began its preseason exhibition slate with a 5-3 win at Marquette on Wednesday afternoon.

MILWAUKEE – The Purdue soccer team began its preseason exhibition slate with a 5-3 win at Marquette on Wednesday afternoon.
 
On a hot, sun-soaked day at MU's Valley Fields, the Boilermakers found their first goal less than 10 minutes into the match. Purdue made it 2-0 in the 24th minute and added a third goal in the 34th minute to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
 
The visitors extended their advantage to 5-0 with two goals early in the second half. The Golden Eagles then scored the next three for the 5-3 final.
 
Wednesday's contest was the first of two exhibition matches for the Boilermakers. They conclude the week, and the preseason, at home against Illinois State on Saturday, August 13, at 1 p.m. ET, at Folk Field. Admission will be free for all fans to all preseason and regular-season games in 2022.
