WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue soccer team hosts Maryland at Folk Field in the season finale on Sunday, October 23, at 2 p.m. ET.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue soccer team hosts Maryland at Folk Field in the season finale on Sunday, October 23, at 2 p.m. ET.
 
Admission is free for all fans. Sunday is the annual Reunion Weekend, as the Boilermakers welcome back alumnae from throughout the program's 25 seasons.

Purdue returns home from a three-game roadtrip, and is coming off a 2-0 defeat at Minnesota on Thursday. The Boilermakers are 3-10-3 on the season and 0-6-3 in Big Ten play. Maryland is 3-8-5 and 2-7-0 in the Big Ten after a 1-0 win at Indiana, which snapped a seven game losing streak.
 
Statistically, freshman goalkeeper Kailey Kimball is second in the Big Ten with 4.78 saves per game and junior midfielder Emily Mathews is fifth with six assists. Sophomore forward Gracie Dunaway leads the team with six goals, 14 points and 15 shots on goal. Freshman forward Kayla Budish is second on the team with three goals and 12 shots on goal, and she and Dunaway share the team lead with 31 shots. Budish, Mathews and fifth year midfielder Sydney Duarte are tied for second on the squad with eight points, and Duarte's four assists also is second-most. Kimball has made a squad-best 43 saves, following a 10-save effort on Thursday night, tied for seventh-most in a game in team history.
 
As a team, Purdue is second in the Big Ten with 5.44 saves per game. The Boilermakers have scored 18 goals and recorded 18 assists for 54 points. They have made 87 saves for a .731 save percentage with a 2.00 goals-against average.
 
Sunday is the final game at Folk Field in 2022, and marks the last time Purdue's seniors will don the Old Gold and Black kits.

SERIES HISTORY VS. MARYLAND
The Boilermakers are 4-2-0 all-time against Maryland and 3-0-0 at home, following a thrilling double-overtime victory in the 2020 season. The first meeting came in 2014 in College Park, Maryland, and two of Purdue's victories in the series have come in overtime.
 
In the last meeting on February 25, 2021, Purdue earned a 3-2 win inside the Mollenkopf Athletic Center in West Lafayette. The Boilermakers took a 1-0 lead 30 seconds into the match and tied it at 2-2 at 89:59 to force overtime before scoring the game-winning goal in the second overtime.
 
Then-junior forward Sarah Griffith scored the second-earliest goal in team history at 0:30, but Maryland evened the match at 1-1 in the 19th minute and took a 2-1 lead in the 81st. However, then-sophomore defender Chloe Woodbeck headed in the match-tying goal with one second left in regulation to send it to overtime. In the 102nd minute, then-freshman forward Nicole Kevdzija scored her first collegiate goal to win it for the Boilermakers.

SCOUTING THE TERRAPINS
Maryland comes to Folk Field with a 3-8-5 overall record, a 2-7-0 mark in Big Ten action and a 1-3-3 record away from home. The Terrapins are coming off a 1-0 win at Indiana on October 20, which ended a seven-game losing streak. UMD opened conference play with a 1-0 win over Michigan.
 
The Terps have scored 13 goals with 16 assists for 42 points. A pair of goalkeepers have combined to make 58 saves with 26 goals against for a .690 save percentage and a 1.63 goals-against average.
 
Individually, Alina Stahl leads the team with five goals and 12 points, while Alyssa Poarch is second with three goals and seven points and has a team-best 40 shots and 17 shots on goal. Madeline Smith has made 44 saves for a .759 save percentage with 14 goals allowed for a 1.22 goals-against average.
 
LAST TIME OUT: ROAD LOSS
In its final road game of the season and to conclude a three-game roadtrip, Purdue lost at Minnesota, 2-0, on Thursday night in St. Paul, Minnesota. The defeat snapped a two-game unbeaten streak. Both of Minnesota's goals came in the first half, in the eighth and 23rd minutes.
 
The Boilermakers had seven shots, three on goal, and the Golden Gophers registered 27 shots, 12 on target. UMN held a 14-1 advantage in corner kicks and had 13 fouls to Purdue's 10. Sophomore forward Sydney Boudreau led the team with two shots, both on goal. Kimball had a career-best 10 saves, tied for seventh-most in a game in program history.
