CALI, Columbia – Three Purdue track & field student-athletes have qualified to compete at the 2022 U20 World Athletics Championships in Cali, Colombia, from August 1-6.
Incoming sophomore Praise Aniamaka (Canada, triple jump) and incoming freshmen Bryanna Craig (United States, heptathlon) and Zachary Evans (Bahamas, 100 meters) will represent their countries and Purdue. The six-day meet at Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero will feature more than 1,500 athletes from 141 countries.
Evans will open the event for the Boilermakers as he races in the 100m heats on Monday, August 1, at 12:55 p.m. ET. The semifinal and final are both on Tuesday, at 4:40 and 6:55 p.m. ET, respectively.
Craig begins the heptathlon on Wednesday, August 3, with the 100m hurdles at 9:30 a.m. ET, and the day continues with the high jump, shot put and 200m. The heptathlon continues with the final three events on Thursday. The long jump commences the day at 10:23 a.m. ET, followed by the javelin and 800m.
Aniamaka also is competing on Thursday, August 4, in the triple jump, as the qualification round is slated for noon ET. The final is the following day, at 5:55 p.m. ET.
