WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – New Purdue men's tennis head coach Geoff Young has welcomed Felix Corwin to West Lafayette as the program's assistant coach. Corwin brings an exceptional wealth of tennis experience from his time in the professional ranks to his stellar career playing for Young at Minnesota.
"Purdue Tennis is lucky to get Felix Corwin on board," Young said. "Felix comes from a great family who has instilled in him the values necessary to carry a very high level of excellence. I expect him to coach the same way he lives as a person and tennis player—with high standards and integrity. He has spent the last four years playing full time on tour and has been a top 500 player in the world.
"His experience brings great perspective and insight into what it takes to excel to the highest level of college tennis. He will be a tremendous resource of support for the team and I look forward to working with him."
Following a standout playing career at Minnesota from 2014-18, Corwin embarked on a professional career that saw him climb up to No. 479 on the World ATP rankings and No. 210 in the World ITF rankings.

He added a pair of titles to his trophy cabinet in doubles play both in 2021 at the M25+H Rodez in France and M15 Ramat Hasharon in Israel. He has reached 51 quarterfinals, 20 semifinals and 10 championship matches.
Prior to his jump to the professional ranks, Corwin was a standout for Young at Minnesota for four seasons. Compiling a career 89-42 singles record and a 78-38 mark in doubles, Corwin was twice named to All-Big Ten. His 25 doubles wins as a freshman in 2015 and 78 career, rank seventh and fifth in program history, respectively. He played a major part in helping the Golden Gophers reach the NCAA Tournament in three of his four campaigns.
As a senior in 2018, Corwin went 27-9 in singles action to earn All-Big Ten and ITA Most Improved Senior honors, as well as a bid into the NCAA Singles Championship.
He graduated from Minnesota in 2018 with a degree in business.
Originally from Elm Grove, Wis., Corwin won back-to-back Wisconsin singles state titles in 2013 and 2014. He garnered three all-state honors, team MVP of Team Midwest that won the 2013 national team championship, won the 2013 USTA National Winter Championships doubles title, claimed the 2012 USTA National Open 18s championship and earned the Wallace R.
