WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A return trip to the NCAA Championships as a top-10 national finisher in platform diving coupled with graduating in four years with a 3.85 grade-point average in finance earned Purdue's Ben Bramley Academic All-America recognition for the second year in a row.
Bramley was a third-team selection among the at-large ballot, which features sports such as swimming & diving, golf, tennis, wrestling, ice hockey, lacrosse and many others. He joins softball's Rachel Becker and baseball's Jackson Smeltz as Boilermakers to garner Academic All-America accolades during the 2021-22 school year. Kelly Cook Jr. and Curt Eckstein are also on the track & field/cross country ballot, with the All-America teams slated to be announced next week.
Bramley is the first Purdue student-athlete to be a multi-year Academic All-America selection since swimmer Marat Amaltdinov and volleyball player Ashley Evans, who both wrapped up their college careers during the 2017-18 school year. At the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center, Bramley has joined fellow diver Jamie Bissett (2014, 2015) and Amaltdinov (2017, 2018) as multi-year Academic All-America honorees.
The 2017-18 school year marked the last time Purdue Athletics produced Academic All-America selections in three different sports. Football's Joe Schopper joined Amaltdinov and Evans as the student-athletes to be recognized that year.

With so many sports in the mix, the at-large ballot in the Academic All-America program is among the most competitive and traditionally filled with the best and brightest of college athletics. Golfer Joe Weiler and wrestler Max Lyon were also on the Academic All-America ballot this year after joining Bramley on the Academic All-District team from District 5 (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio).
Members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) nominate and vote on the Academic All-America and Academic All-District teams.
