LOS ANGELES – When his number was called, Brycen Hopkins stepped up and delivered. Now, he's a Super Bowl Champion. The Purdue Football alum hauled in four catches for 47 yards to help the Los Angeles Rams take down the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-20, in Super Bowl LVI (Feb. 13).

With starting tight end Tyler Higbee forced to miss the biggest game in football due to injury, Hopkins was inserted into the Rams' offensive plans. Hopkins entered the game with only one catch on the year, but showcased his natural catching ability by making four receptions in the Super Bowl victory. His four catches tied for second-most on the team, while his 47 receiving yards were third behind only Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr.

A former Purdue player has now been on the Super Bowl-winning team 16 of the past 23 years. A total of 43 Boilermakers have appeared in the 56 Super Bowls throughout history, with at least one Boilermaker in 22 of the past 23. Along with Hopkins on the Rams, Ricardo Allen and Markus Bailey played in Super Bowl LVI for the Bengals.
