[4 / 3] Purdue (18-3, 7-3) vs. Minnesota (11-7, 2-7)
Wednesday, Feb. 2 | 7 PM ET | Williams Arena (14,625)
BTN (Cory Provus, Stephen Bardo)

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
The No. 4-ranked Purdue Boilermakers look to keep pace with the league leaders, opening the second half of league play at The Barn in frigid Minneapolis. Purdue is looking for its first win in Minneapolis since Jan. 2018, and more importantly, stay within one game in the loss column in the Big Ten standings. A win over Minnesota would be Purdue's fourth in a row overall and fourth road win in its last five games.

Purdue enters with a 18-3 mark, while Minnesota is 11-7. The Gophers own top-50 wins over Mississippi State and Michigan on the road.

The contest will be televised on BTN with Cory Provus and Stephen Bardo on the call. On the radio waves, Rob Blackman and Bobby Riddell will be courtside on the 22-station Purdue Radio Network and online on the Varsity Sports Network (app). Live stats will be provided on StatBroadcast.com and updates will be provided on Purdue's official Twitter account (@BoilerBall).

THE NOTES TO KNOW
1) A win would give Matt Painter and Purdue his third 22-game start of 19-3 or better (2017-18, 2009-10).
2) The Boilermakers have already matched last year's win total with 10 regular-season games remaining (18-10 last season).
3) Since Feb. 1, 2021, Purdue is the only team nationally without a double-digit loss. Purdue's seven losses in that span have come by 1, 3, 9 (ot), 9 (ot), 2, 5 and 3 points. In regulation games only, Purdue's five losses in that span are 1, 3, 2, 5 and 3 points.
4) Zach Edey and Jaden Ivey were named to the Wooden Award late-season top-20 list, while Ivey was tabbed one of 10 finalists for the Jerry West Award given to the nation's best shooting guard.
5) Wednesday's game will be the 300th Big Ten regular-season game coached by Matt Painter at Purdue. He owns a 187-112 Big Ten record, the seventh most Big Ten wins in conference history. In all games, he ranks fifth on the Big Ten's wins list with 373 victories. Painter also needs just two victories for 400 in his career (373 at Purdue; 25 at Southern Illinois).
6) Purdue needs just two wins for 1,000 in Big Ten regular-season games. It would be the first program to reach that mark.
7) Purdue leads the Big Ten in scoring, field goal percentage, 3-point percentage, 3-pointers made, rebound margin and assists.
8) In years that Purdue made the NCAA Tournament under Painter, the Boilermakers are 61-21 (.744) in the month of February.
9) Purdue leads the country in offensive efficiency (125.0) and has been held under 1.00 points / possession just once (Indiana - 0.98).
10) Purdue has trailed by double-digits in just three games this year (Villanova, North Carolina State, Indiana) and won two of them.

THE SERIES
• Wednesday's game with Minnesota is the 193rd all-time meeting between the two teams, the seventh-most frequently-played rivalry in the Big Ten.
• The 106 wins over Minnesota are the fourth most for the Boilermakers against any opponent (Northwestern - 133; Indiana - 124; Wisconsin - 111).
• Purdue has won five of the last eight meetings against Minnesota, with four of those victories coming by double-figures. Purdue is 5-5 in its last 10 trips to The Barn.
• Including Wednesday, Purdue will be ranked in nine of the last 11 games against Minnesota. Purdue is 4-4 in the previous eight games, having lost three in a row -- all coming to unranked Minnesota teams. Purdue's four losses in that span have come by 9 (ot), 4, 2 and 3 points.
