After a 2-0 start to the 2022 dual season last weekend, the Purdue women's tennis team continues its five-match homestand Saturday with a noon start against Xavier at the Schwartz Tennis Center.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After a 2-0 start to the 2022 dual season last weekend, the Purdue women's tennis team continues its five-match homestand Saturday with a noon start against Xavier at the Schwartz Tennis Center.

Live stats and live streaming will be available.

All matches at the Schwartz Tennis Center are open to the public. Masks are required in all on-campus buildings in accordance with Protect Purdue policies. Live stats and streaming will be available for both matches.

LAST TIME OUT
Playing its first non-conference duals since 2020, the Boilermakers cruised to a 5-2 win over Cincinnati to open the season last Saturday. The Boilermakers won the doubles point, before picking up wins at No. 1, 3, 5 and 6 to seal the season-opening victory. In the second match of the doubleheader, Purdue rolled to a 7-0 win over IUPUI. The Boilermakers did not drop a set in singles and kept the set scores to 6-2 or better in 12 of 14 completed frames. 

 NOTES
• The Boilermakers own a 2-0 lead in the series with Xavier. The two clubs last met on Jan. 18, 2020, to open the season with a 6-1 by Purdue.
• Purdue's 7-0 sweep of IUPUI was its first complete clean sweep since Jan. 20, 2020, against Butler.
Csilla Fodor won both of her singles matches last week, including a straight-set win against No. 121 Elizabeth Pendergast from Cincinnati. Fodor is now 15-2 on the year in singles.
• Tara Milic, Seira Shimizu and Rut Galindo all went 2-0 in the opening weekend in singles.
• The Boilermakers did not drop a doubles match last weekend and are 24-16 in doubles play dating back to the fall.
• Shimizu improved to 10-4 on the year in singles. She has won seven of her last eight matches.
Carmen Gallardo Guevara saw her six-match singles winning streak snapped in the opener against Cincinnati, but the rookie bounced back to get her first singles dual win against IUPUI.
• Xavier enters this weekend with a 2-0 record with wins over Northern Kentucky and Dayton.
• Xavier returned seven letterwinners from last season's BIG EAST Championship squad, including Ahmeir Kyle and Anna Roggenburk, who were unanimous selections to the All-BIG EAST First Team.
