WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A great sign of what's to come, Purdue women's tennis rising junior Csilla Fodor and incoming freshman Jamilah Snells teamed up to win the doubles flight of 2021 ITA Summer Circuit event at Northwestern this weekend.

Competing together for the first time, the tandem dispatched incoming Illinois freshmen Megan Heuser and Kathryn Treiber in the first round 6-4. The two-game win was the closest for the Purdue duo.

After breezing by Lucy Lu, an incoming freshman at Minnesota, and Amber Yin 6-2, the pair cruised to a 6-3 win in the semifinals against Ellie Pittman and Sydni Ratliff, soon-to-be rookies at Texas A&M and Ohio State, respectively.

In the championship, Fodor and Snells cruised to a 6-2 win against Nevena Carton and Michigan State's Maja Pietrowicz.

In singles, Fodor reached the semifinals, following a 6-0, 6-2 win over Ann Guerry and a quarterfinals victory against Utah's Anastasia Goncharova, 6-4, 6-0.

The win gave Snells another impressive mark on her 2021 run. The Miramar, Fla., native reached the finals of the ITF W15 in Antalya, Turkey two weeks ago. The two Boilermakers will more than likely see a jump in their rankings. Snells entered the weekend with a 9.88 UTR, No. 1,364 in the WTA Doubles and No. 1,212 in the ITF Doubles. Fodor has a UTR of 10 and ranks No. 852 in the Pro Tennis Tour, No. 49 in the UTR World College and No. 907 in the UTR World.
