Cleveland Selected for CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

The 2020 AVCA First Team All-American Grace Cleveland of the Purdue volleyball team adds to her CoSIDA Academic District 5 Second Team Honors to her resume, with the organization's announcement on Thursday.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – 2020 AVCA First Team All-American Grace Cleveland of the Purdue volleyball team adds CoSIDA Academic District 5 Second Team Honors to her resume, with the organization's announcement on Thursday.

The honor, voted upon by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Cleveland is the first Boilermaker to be honored since three-time honoree Ashley Evans (last: 2017). The senior out of Bloomington, Illinois is a 2020 Academic All-Big Ten honoree and majors in Retail Management with a 3.59 grade point average.

The senior continues to make her mark in Purdue history, rising the record book ranks in two categories. Currently, Cleveland is tied as the third all-time leader in block assists (403) and eighth in total blocks (446). Meanwhile, in her senior campaign, Cleveland has posted double-digit kills in 17 matches, set career-highs in total blocks (10 at Ohio State, 10/15) and digs (11, twice), as well as hit above a .400 efficiency in seven matches this season.

Cleveland has guided Purdue to a No. 6 national ranking entering the final week of the regular-season, helping Purdue to a 22-5, 14-4 Big Ten record. This weekend, No. 6 Purdue will take on Indiana on Friday and No. 11 Nebraska on Saturday (BTN) before the NCAA Selection show on Sunday, Nov. 28.
