WEST LAFAYETTE - At an event that the Boilermakers have won twice before, Purdue Women's Golf readies to tee it up from the Landfall Tradition (Friday, Oct. 29-Sunday, Oct. 31), one of the nation's top collegiate women's golf tournaments.
Head coach Devon Brouse has seen his squad bring home top team and individual honors at the Landfall before, as Purdue won the team championship at the event in 2005 and 2011. Christel Boeljon was the individual champion in 2005, while Paula Reto won it all for Purdue in 2011.
The three-day event tees off at 8:30 a.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 30. The final round will take place on Sunday, Oct. 31, with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. ET. The tournament will be contested on the Country Club of Landfall's scene par-72, 6,150-yard course, a Pete Dye creation.
This upcoming weekend's lineup features the same five Boilermakers that fired Purdue to a third-place team finish at the Illini Invitational in Medinah, Illinois, from Oct. 11-12.
Senior Inez Wanamarta (Surabaya, Indonesia) leads the Boiler group after coming in at 2-under-par in Medinah. Wanamarta has averaged 70.2 strokes per round during the fall season, thus far.
Sophomore Ashley Kozlowski (Littleton, Colorado) makes her regular appearance in the lineup coming off of a Top-10 finish at the Medinah event. Kozlowski went low for Purdue with a 5-under-par tournament performance.
Senior Thitapa Pakdeesettakul (Songkhla, Thailand) also played well at the Illini Invitational, notching her own Top-10 finish with a 4-under-par showing.
Juniors Sifat Sagoo (New Delhi, India) and Kan Bunnabodee (Chonburi, Thailand) round out Brouse's five in Wilmington. The duo each netted their own round under-par at the Illini Invitational. Bunnabodee led the way for the Boilermakers at the Sam Golden Invitational to start the season, coming in at 9-under-par for the event.
