Drews, USA Volleyball to Play for Gold

Team USA, which seeks its first gold medal in Olympic history, will play Brazil at 12:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, August 8.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Annie Drews and Team USA advanced to the gold medal match of the Tokyo Olympics in a stunning 3-0 sweep of Serbia (25-19, 25-15, 25-23).

Team USA, which seeks its first gold medal in Olympic history, will play Brazil at 12:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, August 8.

Drews led the team for the third straight match with 17 points. The Elkhart, Indiana product got off to a hot start with five kills and an ace in the first set alone, before finishing the night with 12 kills on 32 swings, three aces and a pair of blocks.

The U.S. and Brazil each finished at the top of the pool standings. Brazil has remained undefeated during Olympic play, sweeping its opponents in four of its seven matches.
