MAINEVILLE, Ohio – Sophomore Kan Bunnabodee fired a 2-under 70 in the opening round of the Big Ten Championship and sits in a tie for second in the individual standings. Playing at TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio, the Boilermakers ended the first day of the conference tournament sixth among the 13 Big Ten teams competing, shooting a combined 7-over 295 Friday.

Bunnabodee is one stroke off of championship leader Leila Raines of Michigan State after she recorded six birdies in the first 18 holes.
 
Bunnabodee's classmate, Daniela Ballesteros, is tied for seventh amongst the field with an even-par 72 Friday.
 
Michigan State is the clubhouse leader after the opening 18, carding a 2-under 286 collectively.
