Boilermakers Head for 4-Game Set at Minnesota

The Purdue softball team will make the trek for its first true Big Ten road series since 2019 this weekend with a trip to Minnesota. The four-game set will open Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Saturday and a series finale Sunday at 1 p.m., all times Eastern.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue softball team will make the trek for its first true Big Ten road series since 2019 this weekend with a trip to Minnesota. The four-game set will open Friday at 4 p.m., followed by a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Saturday and a series finale Sunday at 1 p.m., all times Eastern.

Junior Rachel Becker leads the league in batting average. (.490), doubles (8) and on-base percentage (.567). The Lindenhurst, Ill., native notched her 100th career start in the series finale against the Hawkeyes. Becker leads the team with nine multi-hit games and has a six-game hitting streak entering the weekend.

Cora Bassett hit .400 over the weekend and drove in seven of Purdue's 12 RBI against the Hawkeyes. Starting every game this season, the Newburgh, Ind., native is hitting .382 on the year and slugging .564 with six extra-base hits. She also leads the team with a 5-for-6 mark when stealing.
