HOUSTON – Paced by an outstanding individual effort from junior Thitapa Pakdeesettakul, the women's golf team sits ninth in the team standings after the opening two rounds at the ICON Invitational.
 
Playing in merely her third tournament as a Boilermaker, Pakdeesettakul shot a 6-under par 138 in the opening two rounds Monday. Her second-round score of 5-under 67 ties for 12th lowest in school history over 18 holes. After shooting 1-under 71 on the first 18 holes, she posted six birdies against a lone bogey in the second. Heading into tomorrow's final round, Pakdeesettakul is tied for fifth in the individual standings, two strokes behind the leaders.
 
Freshman Ashley Kozlowski finished her second collegiate round 1-under par 71 and is tied for 36th in the individual standings with a two-round tally of 3-over 147.
 
LSU and Baylor share the team after the opening two rounds with each shooting a combined 12-under 564. Oklahoma State's Rita Tatematsu, Houston's Karen Fredgaard and LSU's Ingrid Linbald are tri-leaders individually at 8-under 136.
 
The final round is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 9 a.m. ET with a shotgun start.
