Purdue Unveils New Non-Conference Slate

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Featuring five home games, the Purdue women's basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the 2020 season. The Boilermakers' non-conference slate will run from Nov. 25 to Dec. 9 ahead of the Big Ten season, which will open before the holiday break.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Featuring five home games, the Purdue women's basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the 2020 season Friday afternoon. The Boilermakers' non-conference slate will run from Nov. 25 to Dec. 9. 

Purdue will open the season against Bowling Green on Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving. The Boilermakers outlasted the Falcons in the final non-conference game of the 2019-20 season for an 81-74 win. Purdue leads the all-time series 7-3.

The Boilermakers will then welcome North Alabama to Mackey Arena on Nov. 29 for the first meeting between the two programs in history. 

The homestretch will continue Dec. 3 for a tip against Miami University. The two clubs last met during the 2017-18 campaign with a 74-63 Purdue win. The Boilermakers hold a 6-2 all-time series advantage over the RedHawks. Purdue will renew a regional rivalry Dec. 6 when Valparaiso comes to Mackey. The Boilermakers downed the Crusaders 95-49 on Dec. 8, 2017 to improve to 11-1 all-time against their in-state foes.

The non-conference slate concludes Dec. 9 against Buffalo for a first-time clash between the two clubs. 

The Boilermakers await their conference schedule from the Big Ten, along with game times and television/stream assignments, which will be announced at a later date. 

NON-CONFERENCE NOTES
• The Nov. 25 start date is the latest season opener for the Boilermakers since an 80-72 win against Kansas on Nov. 26, 1995.
• Purdue is 157-73 against non-conference opposition in the Sharon Versyp era. 
• The Boilermakers' non-conference opponents posted a combined 78-74 record last season. 
• Purdue has won their last seven games in the month of November, including all six during the 2019-20 season. 
• The 2020-21 season will mark the first in program history that the Boilermakers will not compete in some form of a non-conference tournament or showcase. 
• North Alabama and Buffalo will be the 103rd and 104th unique opponents in Purdue's history. 
• The Boilermakers are 71-20 all-time against the Mid-American Conference, 3-0 against the Atlantic Sun and 41-23 against the Missouri Valley.
