WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue women's basketball senior Ae'Rianna Harris was tabbed as the Big Ten Conference Player of the Week after a pair of stellar performances last week.
Harris recorded one of her best two-game stretches of the season, averaging 23 points and 10.5 rebounds. Her 76.9% shooting clip topped the league last week.
The senior came off the bench at Nebraska on Wednesday night to drop a season-high 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting. She followed that performance up with a 21-point, 12-rebound outing at home against Penn State for her fifth double-double of the year.
Last week, the Indianapolis native broke Purdue's all-time blocks record for men and women in a career, set the single-season senior record for blocks and tied the program mark for double-doubles in a career. The senior was named to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Midseason Team last week.
Harris leads the team with 13 points and 8.6 rebounds this season and a 46.4% field goal clip. She also leads the league with 67 blocks and is sixth in rebounding.
It marked Purdue's first Big Ten Player of the Week honor since Nov. 20, 2017, when Harris shared co-laurels with Kenisha Bell from Minnesota.
Harris and Boilermakers will hit the road Thursday to face Michigan State at 7 p.m. on BTN+.
