WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Two true freshman women's golfers were recognized by the Big Ten Conference on Monday with postseason honors. Sifat Sagoo was feted with second-team All-Big Ten recognition and classmate Kan Bunnabodee was named Purdue's Sportsmanship Award winner.
Sagoo, a native of New Delhi, India, played in all six events of the shortened 2019-20 season, finishing with a 73.00 stroke per round average and tying for the team lead with eight rounds of par or better on the year. She tallied a pair of top 10 finishes, including runner-up at the Boilermakers' final outing of the year in the ICON Invitational. Sagoo led the team with 218 pars and was third on the team 44 birdies. She also carded a hole-in-one on the par-3 10th at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
Bunnabodee, who enrolled at Purdue in January, made an immediate impact for the Boilermakers. A native of Chonburi, Thailand, she played in all three of Purdue's spring tournaments and averaged a team-low 72.33 strokes per round on the year. Out of nine total rounds, she finished at par or better four times with a low round of 4-under par 68 at the ICON Invitational.
