WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Heading to the state of Colorado for the first time in over 21 years, the Purdue softball team (14-6) is slated to compete in the Colorado State Classic from Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8.
Over the three-day tournament, Purdue will face Idaho State, Colorado State and Kennesaw State and will mark the first time the Boilermakers will compete at Colorado State in program history.
Coming off a pair of wins to close out the JU/UNF Spring Break Challenge against Jacksonville and Akron, the Boilermakers tie for the most wins in the Big Ten and rank second in the conference standings behind Iowa.
Entering the weekend, the Boilermakers bat a combined .282 batting average, which is good for No. 1 in the Big Ten. In the circle, Purdue is led by Sydney Bates, who owns an 8-3 record and double-digit strikeouts on three outings this season.

- Skye Webb is responsible for four of the team's 10 triples this season, which ties for the fourth-most in the nation. Currently, she is one shy of cracking the Purdue top-5 list (record: 8 by Ashley Hall, 2008).
