Hollar Joins Purdue Soccer Program

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue soccer coach Drew Roff has announced the addition of midfielder Gabby Hollar to the program as part of the 2020 squad.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue soccer coach Drew Roff has announced the addition of midfielder Gabby Hollar to the program as part of the 2020 squad.
 
A native of West Liberty, Ohio, Hollar will be a sophomore next season and is immediately eligible. She transferred to Purdue from West Virginia and has joined the Boilermakers for spring practice. Hollar brings a list of accolades to West Lafayette that include Ohio player of the year and All-America honors in high school.
 
"In a short period of time Gabby has made a very positive impact on our program," Roff said. "She is a great fit for us on and off the field, and she is capable of boosting our team's performance next fall, particularly in the attack. We are happy to have her."
 

The 2018 Ohio HS player of the year and 2017 All-American, Gabby has transferred to Purdue and will take the pitch at Folk Field as a sophomore this fall.

Hollar, who plans to major in kinesiology and minor in Spanish, will be one of nine newcomers in 2020. She is joined by an eight-player signing class that will take the pitch at Folk Field in the fall.
 
As a freshman at WVU in 2019, Hollar played in 10 matches and logged 156 minutes. She scored one goal and registered two shots, both on goal while helping her squad reach the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
Hollar was a decorated student-athlete at West Liberty-Salem High, where she was named the 2018 Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Division III Player of the Year and a 2017 United Soccer Coaches Fall High School Girls All-America honoree. She also was recognized on the United Soccer Coaches Fall High School Girls All-Region team twice. While leading West Liberty-Salem to three consecutive Ohio Heritage Conference (OHC) titles, Hollar was a three-time district player of the year and a two-time conference player of the year. She was named to the all-state first team three times and the OHC First Team all four seasons.
 
A two-time team captain, Hollar concluded her high school career with 99 goals and 32 assists while leading West Liberty-Salem to a 63-10 record. As a senior in 2018, she scored 25 goals and had six assists. Hollar also was a four-year starter on her school's varsity girls basketball team, where she was a two-time team captain and was named to the all-league and all-district teams. She also played club soccer for Locker Soccer.
 
Her parents are Aaron and Kim Hollar, and she has two sisters. Hollar's mother played basketball at Ohio.
