WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The women's golf team will open its spring schedule Sunday at the 14th-annual UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida. The three-day, 54-hole event will be played at Eagle Creek Golf Club.
Purdue will send six golfers to the event, including a pair of newcomers in Kan Bunnabodee and Daniela Ballesteros. The pair of freshmen enrolled at Purdue in January for the spring semester. Sophomore Danielle du Toit, senior Micaela Farah, freshman Sifat Sagoo and junior Inez Wanamarta competed in all three of the Boilers' fall tournaments.
This is Purdue's second straight season competing at the UCF Challenge. The field includes four top 15 teams in the latest Golfstat rankings in No. 3 Kent State, No. 13 Michigan State, No. 14 Illinois and No. 15 Oklahoma State.

THE COURSE
A par-72, 6,349-yard course, Eagle Creek Golf Club has played host to the Knights' annual event for the last six seasons. Designed by Ron Garl and Howard Swan, it is part of a group of designated "Audubon International Silver Signature" courses, featuring more than 90 white sand bunkers and dramatic bulkheads embracing water hazards and greens, all nestled beneath a canopy of towering trees and foliage.

PURDUE AT THE UCF CHALLENGE
The Boilermakers made their debut in the event last season, finishing sixth in the team standings at eight-under par, 856. Farah wrapped up the challenge fifth individually, carding a career-best 54-hole tournament score of seven-under, 209 (69-69-71). Du Toit tied for 20th in the individual standings with a two-under, 214 (71-71-72). Wanamarta shot a six-over, 222 (73-76-73), to finish tied for 68th.
