WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After a whirlwind three matches in three days last weekend, the Purdue men's tennis team will take part in the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday and Sunday with a spot at the Team Indoor National Championship on the line.
The Boilermakers will take on Big Ten foe and No. 6 Ohio State on Saturday at 10 a.m. with a Sunday match at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. against Utah or Tulsa.

The Boilermakers are looking to bounce back from a 1-2 start to the season. After a loss to Harvard, Purdue edged Army West Point 4-3 at the Arthur Ashe Invitational in West Point, N.Y. The Boilermakers then turn around and traveled to South Bend to face Notre Dame in a narrow 4-1 loss, including the lead in two unfinished matches.
ORACLE/ITA No. 45 Athell Bennett went 2-1 last week, including a 7-6(6), 6-4 win over No. 5 Richard Ciamarra from Notre Dame.
Ohio State is 3-0 to start the year with three straight shutouts. Utah went 2-0 in their season-opening doubleheader against Idaho and Weber State. Tulsa played a pair of doubleheaders to open the season against Mercer and Bryant, winning all of them.
