SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Playing in its third match in three days, the Purdue men's tennis team dropped its road contest at Notre Dame on Monday afternoon 4-1.
Athell Bennett provided Purdue's lone point on the afternoon from the No. 1 position. The senior, ranked No. 45 in the ORACLE/ITA rankings, took down No. 5 Richard Ciamarra in straight sets, 7-6(6), 6-4. The victory is his second top-10 win of the year, after defeating No. 8 Joseph Guillin from UC Santa Barbara in the fall at ITA All-American Championships.
Maksymilian Raupuk and Michal Wozniak pushed their matches at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively, to three sets.
