Women's Tennis Welcomes 4 Newcomers

Head coach Laura Glitz welcomed the four newest Boilermakers to campus. The four international student-athletes will compete as freshmen this fall. 

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (PurdueSports.com) – As students made their way back to campus for the first day of classes on Monday, head coach Laura Glitz welcomed the four newest members to the Purdue women's tennis team.

Nathalia Wolf Gasparin, Nikol Dobrilova, Zeynep Naz Ozturk and Csilla Fodor started their careers as Boilermakers and will compete this fall.

"I am very excited about this class," Glitz said. "All four players will impact the team in a positive way. I believe with the returners and this new class that our depth will be our strength this year. If we focus on the process and the things that are in our control, we will have a very successful season."

A native of Brazil, Wolf Gasparin climbed to a career-high 123 in the ITF World Junior rankings. She reached 17 doubles finals during her junior career, winning 11 tournaments. Wolf Gasparin elevated to 684 in the ITF World singles rankings and 985 in doubles. She qualified for the round of 16 three times at ITF $15,000 events in Paraguay.

Dobrilova moved up to 942 in the ITF World Tennis singles rankings, thanks to four appearances in ITF W15 singles main draws. Her best finishes in professional events came in the round of 16 at the ITF $15,000 Nules and W15 Don Benito tournaments in Spain. During her junior career, the Dobrilova climbed up to 719 in the ITF World Junior rankings.

Ozturk had an impressive junior career. The Istanbul, Turkey, native reached the semifinals in five singles tournaments and seven doubles flights. She won both the singles and doubles titles at the 2017 Tehran Junior Championships in Iran. She made it to the quarterfinals of the ITF $15,000 in Antalya to move up to 1,498 in the ITF World Tennis singles rankings and 1,333 in doubles.

Fodor, who signed with the Boilermakers back in February, finished her pre-Purdue career with a personal-high ITF World Tennis singles rankings of 539. She qualified for the main singles draw of five ITF $15,000 events and four doubles flights. Her best finish was in the semifinals of the ITF $15,000 tournament in Tacarigua, Trinidad & Tobago. In her junior career, the native of Budapest, Hungary, climbed to No. 253 in the ITF Juniors combined ranking. She won the singles draw of the THA/Bmobile Tobago Junior ITF, the Cabo Rojo Tournament and Neighbors Cup.
