The Boilermakers dominated the glass in a 66-59 win over Western Illinois last Sunday with a rebounding margin of plus-22. Ae'Rianna Harris (14 points, 17 rebounds) and Tamara Farquhar (13 points and 14 rebounds) notched the first and second double-doubles of the season. Harris sits second on the team with 14 points and nine rebounds per game. Farquhar has averaged a team-best 9.3 rebounds per game this season.
Offensively, Dominique Oden has led the way with three games in double figures. The senior owns a team-high 14.3 points per game, behind a 40.5% shooting percentage. Oden has also found her touch from behind the arc with a 54.5% clip, which ranks second in the Big Ten.
Sunday will be the Boilermakers' final home game until Dec. 8 against Kent State. Purdue will hit the road next week for three games at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla., before heading to Virginia Tech on Dec. 5 for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
NOTES
• Purdue holds a 5-0 all-time series lead against the Huskies.
• The Boilermakers are 68-20 against team from the Mid-American Conference, the most wins against a conference outside of the Big Ten.
• Despite three rejections in the win over Western Illinois to take her career total to 290, Harris fell to second in the NCAA active blocks list. She trails Denia Davis-Stewart from Merrimack by nine.
• The Boilermakers have spread the wealth this season with 73.7% of their field goals coming off assists. Dominique Oden, Karissa McLaughlin and Kayana Traylor are tied for the team lead with 10 helpers apiece.
• Purdue is averaging 14.6 points off turnovers and 11 fast-break points through three games.
• The upperclassmen leadership has played a heavy role in the offense, as 82.5% (165-200) of the team's points have come from a junior or senior.
