MEET INFORMATION
Purdue Divers at House of Champions Invitational

Friday, Nov. 22 to Sunday, Nov. 24
Indiana University Natatorium / Indianapolis, Indiana

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Eight Purdue divers are competing in the Circle City this weekend, joining an elite field of their contemporaries at the House of Champions Invitational on the campus of IUPUI.

Current student-athletes Ben Bramley, Emily Bretscher, Greg Duncan, Emily Meaney, Maggie Merriman and Maycey Vieta are joined by fellow Boilermakers Steele Johnson and Brandon Loschiavo, who are competing unattached. Johnson graduated and turned pro in the spring. Loschiavo is exercising an Olympic practice waiver this season, giving him one more year of collegiate eligibility should he choose to use it in 2020-21.

The IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI is also hosting the NCAA Men's Championships and Olympic Team Trials for diving in 2020. USA Diving's Senior National Championships in May was the last prominent diving meet held at the IU Natatorium. Loschiavo won the national title on platform, while Bramley and Johnson also earned bids to the FINA World Championships. Casey Matthews (2013) and Johnson (2017) have also won NCAA titles in Indianapolis this decade.

Platform will be contested Friday instead of being the final diving event of the meet as is customary at most collegiate meets. Diving events begin at 1 p.m. ET on Friday and Saturday, and 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Boilermakers will be competing against divers from Indiana, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, IUPUI, UIC, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Western Illinois and the University of Indianapolis. Johnson and Loschiavo join fellow USA Diving National Team members Murph Bromberg, Andrew Capobianco, David Dinsmore, Amy Cozad Magaña, Jessica Parratto, Olivia Rosendahl, Delaney Schnell and Katrina Young as those competing for their clubs or unattached.

The 3-meter and platform events are expected to feature two separate leaderboards for each gender, one for the current collegiate student-athletes and one for the National Team members. The top 12 in the prelims are likely to advance to finals if no consolation finals are offered. If there are consolation finals for the college events, the top 16 will likely advance (eight in each final).

The Purdue divers also competed at a different meet than their swimming counterparts during the week of the fall invitationals last year, putting together a strong showing at the prestigious Texas Hall of Fame Diving Invitational. Loschiavo won on platform. Bramley (2nd on 3-meter), Bretscher (3rd on 3-meter) and Duncan (3rd on 3-meter) also medaled.
