Purdue hosts consecutive sellout crowds against Ohio State and Maryland

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – No.16 Purdue opens a four-match home stint with a pair of contests against Ohio State and Maryland. The Boilermakers are set to take on the Buckeyes on Friday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. ET prior to their match with the Terrapins on Saturday, Nov. 16 also at 7 p.m.

Last season the Buckeyes and the Terrapins visited Holloway on the weekend of Oct. 18. Purdue went perfect on the weekend, defeating Maryland 3-1 and Ohio State 3-0.

SCOUTING OHIO STATE
• Last Friday, Ohio State handed Wisconsin its first conference loss of the season with a 3-1 triumph at the Covelli Center. The Buckeye victory snapped a 12-match win streak for the Badgers, Wisconsin's first loss since Sept. 21. Ohio State held Wisconsin to a season-low .202 attacking percentage for its first win over the Badgers since Nov. 3, 2017 and the first victory in Columbus since Sept. 27, 2015.
• After tallying 41 digs with an average of 5.86 digs per set against then-No.4 Wisconsin and then No.6 Minnesota, defensive specialist Kylie Murr was tabbed the Big Ten Freshman of the Week. She also had a .941 reception percentage with just three errors in 51 attempts. Murr's defensive efforts were instrumental in OSU's upset over Wisconsin as she handled 28 serve receptions with only two miscues and posted 19 digs.
• Ohio State averages 13.52 kills per set to sit at No. 48 in the national rankings, paced by Jenaisya Moore at 3.61 kills per set. Kylie Murr leads the Big Ten and is 33rd in the country behind 5.02 digs per set. Becca Mauer (7.74) and Mac Podraza (6.66) have split setting duties as of late. At the net, 10 Buckeyes have double-digit blocks – Elle Sandbothe (61), Lauren Witte (68), Mac Podraza (38), Jordan Fry (33), Moore (26), Adria Powell (19), Mia Grunze (18), Gabby Gonzales (18), Mauer (12) and Vanja Bukilic (10).
• Setter Becca Mauer has appeared in 76 matches for Ohio State and recorded 1,443 assists during that time to rank 13th all-time in program history. Her 7.74 assists per set is 15th among the Buckeyes' career leaders. Middle blocker Lauren Witte has 86 matches under her belt and currently has 43 solo blocks (t-18th), 224 block assists (20th) and 267 total blocks (20th).

SCOUTING MARYLAND
• Maryland brings a 12-14 overall recorded to West Lafayette, having lost their last five matches. Maryland's last win came against Northwestern on Oct. 23.
• The Terrapins reached their 1000th career win with a sweep over Appalachian State, while junior outside hitter Erika Pritchard tallied her 1000th career kill in Maryland's win over Kennesaw State. Pritchard now ranks 12th all-time in career kills at Maryland.
• Maryland ranks first in the Big Ten and 48th nationally in total service aces with 159. The performance is paced by Samantha Snyder, who leads the Big Ten with 38 service aces. Redshirt sophomore Katie Myers follows with 37, ranking second in the league.
