The Purdue women's tennis team rallied to a 4-3 win over Big Ten foe Minnesota on day two of the Bonita Bay FineMark Classic/FGCU Invite. After dropping the opening doubles point, the Boilermakers stormed back with four wins in singles play to clinch the match.

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – The Purdue women's tennis team rallied to a 4-3 win over Big Ten foe Minnesota on day two of the Bonita Bay FineMark Classic/FGCU Invite. After dropping the opening doubles point, the Boilermakers stormed back with four wins in singles play to clinch the match.

Purdue mounted its comeback with wins at No. 1, 2, 4 and 5 singles. On the top court, Ena Babic put the Boilermakers on the board with a gritty three-set win over Tina Kreinis, 1-6, 6-4, 10-8. Alex Sabe followed suit at No. 2 in straight sets against Tiffany Huber, 7-5, 6-4.

At No. 4 Csilla Fodor dispatched Cammy Frei in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, and Zala Dovnik needed three sets to top River Hart at No. 5, 7-5, 6-7, 10-5.

The Golden Gophers came within one point of winning the match after a pair of singles victories. Seira Shimizu fell to Ekin Ercetin, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 3. Juliet Zhang bested Zeynep Naz Ozturk at No. 6, 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles play, the Boilermakers picked up a win at No. 3 with Dovnik and Sabe ousting Ercetin and Lucia de Santa Ana, 6-2. Minnesota claimed the opening point of the match after Kreins and Huber defeated Nathalia Wolf Gasparin and Shimizu at No. 1, 6-4, and Hart and Zhang topped Babic and Fodor on No. 2, 6-3.

The Boilermakers will close out the tournament on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. with a match against host FGCU.
