WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's golf team heads to Medinah, Illinois, for the Illini Women's Invitational on Oct. 7-8. The 54-hole event will take place at Medinah Country Club with a shotgun start opening two rounds at 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday, and a final round shotgun start at 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday.

The Purdue women's golf team heads to Medinah, Illinois, for the Illini Women's Invitational on Oct. 7-8. The 54-hole event will take place at Medinah Country Club with an opening two rounds featuring a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET Monday, and a final-round shotgun start at 10 a.m. ET Tuesday.
 
Purdue won the inaugural Illini Women's Invitational last year, setting a 54-hole program record with a three-round total of 27-under par, 837. Four Boilermakers finished individually under par with Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri tying for fourth with an eight-under 208, Danielle du Toit tying for seventh at six-under 210, Micaela Farah tying for 11th at four-under 212 and RuQing Guan tying for 13th at three-under 213.

The 2019 field features a pair of ranked team in No. 5 Kent State and No. 19 Illinois. Six other schools are receiving votes in the latest Women's Golf Coaches Association poll.

PURDUE LINEUP
  • Danielle du Toit, Sophomore
After opening the Windy City Collegiate Classic with a five-over 77 in the first round, rallied for back-to-back one-under 71s over the final 36 holes to finish with a team-best score of 219 (77-71-71). The three-over par effort placed du Toit in a tie for 29th in the individual standings. She finished the two-day classic with a Purdue-best 12 birdies.
 
  • Micaela Farah, Senior
Overcame a first-round 79 in the Windy City Collegiate Classic with back-to-back rounds of even par to wrap up the two-day event in a tie with teammate Sifat Sagoo at 223 (79-72-72). Farah offset five bogies with five birdies in the final round to finish at 72 for the day.
  Lowered stroke total in three straight rounds at the Windy City Classic, ending the final round with a three-over 75.
 
  • Sifat Sagoo, Freshman
Playing in her first collegiate tournament at the Windy City Collegiate Classic, paired two birdies along with 16 pars to finish with a two-under 70 in the final round. Sagoo, who was nine-over heading into the third round, wrapped up the 54-hole classic seven-over at 223 (74-79-70) to finish in a tie for 49th place.

Closed in a tie for 35th in the individual standings at the Windy City Classic with a 220 (71-76-73). Shot a one-under 71 in the opening round.

Making her collegiate debut at the Illini Women's Invitational.
 
LAST TIME OUT
With a two-under par 286 in the final round at the Windy City Collegiate Classic, the Boilermakers finished 11th overall in a loaded field that had 13 of the 15 participating schools either ranked or receiving votes in the WGCA Poll. Purdue was the top school of the four competing from the Big Ten in the event.
 
THE COURSE
Medinah Country Club (Course No. 2) - Par 72, 6,159 yards
One of the most prominent private country clubs in the country located just 25 miles west of Chicago, in the suburbs. Founded in the 1920s by a group of Shriners, Medinah Country Club boasts three world class golf courses, all originally designed by famed golf course architect Tom Bendelow. The massive 120,000-square foot clubhouse designed by Richard Schmid provides a place for families and individuals who wish to participate in a variety of community activities from health and wellness to dining and engaging social activities.
 
Course No. 2 was reopened in June 2017, restoring the classic 1925 course to its original look and strategy.
