HISTORY OF THE GOLDEN BOOT
  • After a team is victorious, a letter - either an "I" or "P" will be added to the chain. Engraved on each letter is the date and score of the match it represents.
  • While IU earned the first letter in 1999, the next five letters denote Purdue victories.
  • Purdue has held onto the trophy since 2015, owning a 2-0-2 record  in the last four meet-ups.
  • The concept for the creation of a trophy was originally discussed in 1998, but it was not until 2002, when former Purdue assistant coach Ian Rickerby joined new Indiana head coach Mike Lyon on the Hoosier staff, that the Golden Boot came to fruition.

THE 2019 SQUAD IN COMPARISON
  • Eight Boilermakers have found the back of the net this season, the most since 2016.
  • Bova registered 54 saves entering the final match and is one shy of tying the 2016 season-best by Jordan Ginther (55).
  • Bova's 0.85 GAA is the best mark since Jenny Bradfisch notched a 0.49 GAA in 2007 (25 GP, 24 GS).
  • Through its first six B1G matchups, Purdue has held its opponents to just five goals, its best mark in 10 years.
  • The Boilermakers' eight shutouts are the most since 2007. Purdue has earned eight more more shutouts in seven seasons throughout its history.

SHUTOUT CLOUT
  • Purdue is joined by Iowa and No. 10 Wisconsin with10 eight shutouts on the season led only by No. 21 Rutgers with 10.
  • This is the first time since 2007 a Boilermaker squad has posted eight or more shutouts.
  • Its six shutouts through the first nine games is the most since 2006 (7).
  • Goalkeeper Marisa Bova earned all eight Purdue shutouts, tying for the second most in the B1G with Jordyn Bloomer (WIS) and Claire Graves (IOWA) behind Megan McClelland's (RUT) 10.
  • Over the Big Ten-play opening weekend, Purdue is the only program in the conference to shutout both opponents.
  • Bova is the only sophomore goalkeeper in program history to produce so many shutouts in a season.
  • Purdue entered Week 6 as one of only 13 programs in the Power Five tallied at least six shutouts this season.
