  • Underclassmen have accounted for 67% of goals scored this season. The breakdown includes an even five goals coming from the freshmen and sophomore class each.

SHUTOUT CLOUT
  • Purdue is joined by Iowa, No. 22 Rutgers and No. 10 Wisconsin as the Big Ten leaders with eight shutouts on the season.
  • Its eight shutouts tie as the fourth-most in program history.
  • Since 2007, Purdue has posted at least seven shutouts in an entire season twice (2017 & 2019).
  • Its six shutouts through the first nine games is the most since 2006 (7).
  • Goalkeeper Marisa Bova earned all eight Purdue shutouts, tying for the most in the B1G with Jordyn Bloomer (WIS), Claire Graves (IOWA) and Megan McClelland (RUT).

DEFENSIVELY SOUND
  • Through its first six B1G matchups, Purdue has held its opponents to just five goals, its best mark in 10 years.
  • Purdue is four in the Big Ten with 12 goals allowed this season and tied for fourth in the conference with seven allowed in conference action.
  • Three of Bova's seven shutouts have come in conference play.
  • Against Northwestern (10/3/19), Purdue held the Wildcats to no shots on goal, the first time in program history the Boilermakers have denied a Big Ten opponent a single on-frame opportunity.
  • In total, there have been five occasions Purdue allowed no opponent on-goal shots: at Northwestern (10/3/19), vs. Evansville (10/22/09), vs. Oakland (11/16/2007), vs. Wright State (09/12/2004), vs. Marshall (08/29/03).
  • A young team, Purdue's back line is composed of underclassmen with four sophomores (including goalkeeper) and one freshman.

FRESHMEN ON THE FIELD
  • Freshmen lead the way in Big Ten games, accounting for all but one goals since September 8. Freshmen Leanna Rebimbas and Sydney Sparks have both scored in Big Ten play.
  • Rebimbas leads the team with eight points, ties the team lead in goals (3) and assists (2) while also registering the second-most shots with 23.
  • Meanwhile, Sparks owns two goals this season despite playing the center-back position and posting the third-most shots (17, tied with Hannah Melchiorre).
  • Freshman Chloe Woodbeck is sixth on the team in total minutes (974) and is first on the team when excluding the back line and goalkeeper.

  • Rutgers checks in at fifth in the Big Ten standings with 13 points and 11 goals in league-play.
  • Briggany LaPlant ranks seventh in the B1G with 40 shots and sixth with 2.86 per game.
  • Two Scarlet Knights are among the top Big Ten scorers with Amirah Ali (8 goals) and Nneka Moneme (6 goals) sitting at third and ninth in the league, respectively.
  • The Scarlet Knights are coming off a Week 8 that saw Meagan McClelland named B1G Goalkeeper of the Week and Amanda Visco dubbed Defensive Player of the Week.

  • All-American Maddy Williams produced both goals in the last victory.
  • Purdue is 3-1-0 all-time against the Terps, with the Boilermakers only loss coming in the first meeting on Oc. 2, 2014.
  • The last time Purdue played at College Park, the Boilermakers took home a double-overtime 2-1 victory.
  • Maryland sits just ahead of Purdue in ninth place in the Big Ten standings.
  • Alyssa Poarch leads the Big Ten with 57 shots and a 3.80 shots per game average, which also checks in at T-33 in the nation.
