WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – For the third straight year, a pair of Purdue men's golf alums have earned a spot on the PGA Tour.
Adam Schenk, a 2014 grad, and Tyler Duncan, a 2011 alum, capitalized on big moments during the 2019 season to punch their tickets to professional golf's elite tour.
Schenk capped off a sensational season in 2019, ranking 71st in the final FedEx Cup standings, narrowly missing a spot in the BMW Championships – the second-to-last event of the season. He played in 31 events, making 20 cuts with nine top-25 finishes and three top-10 showings. He made $1,257, 158 during the season and has now surpassed $2 million in PGA Tour earnings.
Duncan, meanwhile, earned a spot on the PGA Tour after finishing in the Korn Ferry Tour's Top 25 during its season-ending playoffs. A final-round 66 at Victoria National in last Sunday's Korn Ferry Championship secured his spot.
Duncan finished 163rd in the FedEx Cup standings, earning $596,502 in 2019. He appeared in 29 events, making 17 cuts with two top-25 showings and one top-10 placing. He had an outstanding year in 2018, reaching the FedEx Cup playoffs, finishing 113th in the overall standings. He was in the top 15 at the U.S. Open after 36 holes at Shinnecock Hills and posted two top-10 finishes as a Tour rookie in 2018.
The 2020 PGA Tour schedule begins Sept. 12, at the Military Tribute at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
