WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Aaron Wheeler had a strong freshman season, averaging 4.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game in 13.7 minutes per outing while playing all 37 games. He shot 36.5 percent from 3-point range (31 of 85) and added 17 blocks and 21 steals. Was one of 18 freshmen nationally and just one of four Big Ten freshmen (Romeo Langford, Izzy Brazdeikis, Joe Weiskamp) to have at least 30 made 3-pointers, 15 blocked shots and 20 steals. He was one of three players to do so in under 900 minutes -- Wheeler did it in 495.
