WEST LAFAYATTE, Ind. – Standing in the top half of the Big Ten conference, the Purdue softball (28-15, 5-6 Big Ten) team looks to continue its league success as it welcomes Nebraska (13-23, 2-7 Big Ten) to Bittinger Stadium this weekend. A 6 p.m. ET start on Friday hits off the three-game series, while Game 2 is Saturday at 3 p.m. and the series finale is set for Sunday at noon.

FOR THE FANS
On Friday, the first 200 fans will receive a free Purdue mini bat. Fans can also take advantage of a Purdue Sports Double Dip Day and attend both Friday's baseball and softball games with the purchase of one ticket to either game.
Saturday's contest will serve as Purdue's Salute to Service game. Service staff members will be honored at the game while fans will get a chance to check out local police cars and fire trucks.The team will also be hosting a blood drive. All fans who donate blood will be entered in a raffle for a Purdue Sports prize.
Sunday's series finale will mark this season's Youth Day. All youth softball teams are invited to take advantage of discounted group ticket sales if they wear their team jersey's to the game. All other fans are encouraged to wear gold on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Purdue and Indiana softball teams did not disappoint the in-state rivalry as they split a competitive doubleheader Wednesday night in Bloomington.
The hosting Hoosiers claimed the first game 2-1, before the visiting Boilermakers rallied from a 4-0 deficit to a 5-4 nine-inning win in the second game.
Purdue's twin bill efforts were guided by senior Jenny Behan, who went 3-for-6 at the plate with a trio of runs and two RBI. Her day was highlighted by a pair of home runs. The third baseman now leads the Boilermakers with 11 long balls on the year.
SCOUTING NEBRASKA
Nebraska comes into this weekend lookingto snap a four-game losing streak. Most recently, the Huskers lost to Creighton on Tuesday in Omaha. The Bluejays hit four home runs en route to a 9-1 five-inning victory. Nebraska had four hits from just two players. Alyvia Simmons and Courtney Wallace both went 2-for-3 during the game. Wallace had the RBI, while Tristen Edwards scored the run.
Overall, Nebraska is paced by Tristen Edwards at the plate and Lindsey Walljaspe in the circle. Edwards averages .330 at the plate with 26 runs on 32 hits, while Walljaspe owns a 4.84 ERA with a team-best seven wins and 62 strikeouts in a team-high 72.1 innings pitched.
