Purdue men's tennis looks to pick up wins in two Big Ten road matches this weekend at Minnesota and Wisconsin.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue men's tennis (7-9, 1-4) looks to pick up wins in two Big Ten road matches this weekend. The Boilermakers take on Minnesota (12-5, 1-4) on Friday at 7 p.m. ET and Wisconsin (7-8, 1-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
 
The Boilermakers are coming off a 6-1 victory over Michigan State on March 31 to push their home record to 5-2 this season.
 
Both of this weekend's opponents are in the midst of losing streaks - Wisconsin five in a row heading into its Friday match against Indiana and Minnesota four straight.
 
Historically, over the last five years, the Boilermakers have played well against both teams.
 
Series History
In four of the last five meetings, Wisconsin has been ranked No. 62 or better. Purdue has won four of those five years. Each match Purdue won was over a ranked Wisconsin team. The biggest upset was in 2017, when Purdue took down No. 30 Wisconsin 4-3.
 
Last year, the Boilermakers defeated No. 46 Wisconsin 4-3. Maksymilian Raupuk and Athell Bennett led the charge for the Boilermakers. At No. 2 singles, Raupuk defeated Lamar Remy 7-6, 2-6, 6-1. Bennett took down Osgar O'Hoisin 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
 
Minnesota has also been ranked four of the last five years. Purdue took three of those five matches, including two upsets. In 2014, the Boilermakers upset the No. 50 Gophers 6-1. The next upset came in 2017 with a victory over No. 33 Minnesota 4-3.
 
Last year, Purdue fell to No. 31 Minnesota 5-2. Bennett fought hard to get one of two points for Purdue with a victory over Josip Krstanovic 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
