WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Following the Boilermakers success at the UTSA Invite, 13 members of the Purdue track & field team are slated to compete at the Bill Cornell Spring Classic on Saturday. The meet, hosted by Southern Illinois, will be held at the Lew Hartzog Track and Field Complex in Carbondale, Illinois.

Purdue is scheduled to compete in the 1500k, 3k steeplechase, and the 100, 200 and 800-meter run. Additionally, two Boilermakers will be running in the 400-meter hurdles.

Events are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET with the 3k steeplechase and will continue in a rolling format.

The travel party will include five freshman, four sophomores and a pair of juniors and seniors each.

Among the veterans competing is Gabrielle Broschard, who is one of the fastest 3k steeplechase runners in program history. The Hershey, Pennsylvania, native checks in at No. 7 in the Purdue record books with a time of 10:26.97, which was set last May. Broschard is signed up for both the 1,500-meter run and the steeplechase.

On the men's side, William Young will run in the 800-meter run. A year ago, Young placed 29th at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the same event and owns a personal-best of 1:57.21.

Joining the Boilermakers and Salukis at the Bill Cornell Spring Classic are student-athletes from Bradley, DePaul, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Illinois, SIUE, Valparaiso and Western Illinois.
