The Highlanders are 5-2-1 this season after posting a 22-25 record in 2018. They opened their season 5-0-1 with wins vs. Eastern Michigan and Norfolk State before dropping both games of a doubleheader at Ohio Valley Conference favorite Morehead State last weekend in Kentucky.
NJIT was slated to play a three-game series at LIU Brooklyn this weekend. It was canceled due to a poor weather forecast for New York.

Purdue attempted to move its series with Creighton to the University of Memphis, but with a poor weekend weather forecast in the mix for Western Tennessee, an official agreement to relocate the series could not be finalized. The Boilermakers and Bluejays are still scheduled to play a weekend series against each other next year in West Lafayette.
The Boilermakers closed out their successful 2018 season with a trip to North Carolina for an NCAA Regional in Chapel Hill. Meanwhile, Purdue opened its 2015 campaign with a three-game series at Western Carolina. Marion is 85 miles northeast of WCU's campus in Cullowhee. There's also a difference of 700 feet in the elevations of Cullowhee (2,100) and Marion (1,400).
Purdue's season-opening weekend a year ago was also a neutral-site series in the southeast. The Boilermakers swept the three-game set vs. Western Michigan at Perfect Game Park in Emerson, Georgia. Both Purdue and WMU had been scheduled to open with series in Texas, but their flights from Midway to the Lone Star State were grounded by fog.
