WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.
– A freshman and a senior earned the final berths on Purdue men's swimming & diving's travel roster for the Big Ten Championships, as Ryan Hrosik and Eddy Zawatski excelled in the sprints at the two-day First Chance meet vs. Indiana.

Hrosik broke 20 seconds in the 50 freestyle, moving into ninth place in program history with an NCAA provisional qualifying time (B Cut) of 19.91. It also ranked as a team season best. The freshman raced in the 100 butterfly (48.12) and 100 free (45.08) as well. He moved into 13th place in program history in the 100 fly.

Zawatski posted personal season-best times of 20.43 and 45.11 in the 50 and 100 free.

He and Luke Ingram finished in a rare dead heat (4:00.36) in the 400 IM in the finals session Saturday evening.

The Boilermakers depart Tuesday afternoon for the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes are hosting the men's meet for the third time since 2012. When Iowa last hosted in 2015, Purdue finished fourth to match its best showing at the conference championship meet. Even without their divers in attendance, the Boilermakers won the Hawkeye Invitational in November of this season.
